Netball Summary – Week Beginning 3 March

Vs. Mount House

U12s Won 34:5

The girls took control from the first whistle. The attack worked well moving the ball around the attacking third. In defence we made a number of interceptions and worked well at bringing the ball up court.

U13s Won 22:21

With a large squad travelling it allowed us to try lots of combinations before the County Tournament. Mount House were determined and it was a very closely contested game, resulting in a nail biting 22:21 win for Truro.

Vs. Kelly College

U12s Won 20:4

The U12 girls performed superbly in the sunshine at Kelly on Saturday. With only seven players, the team got to have lots of court time which helped to build upon their confidence. Mary was as determined as ever and played in a variety of positions; I was thrilled with her attitude and perseverance. Daisy and Lily dominated the centre third with support from Rosie and Sophie. Maddie shot consistently well for the team and Lauren was totally reliable in defence. A super team effort – well done girls. Player of the match, voted by the opposition, was Daisy.

U13s Won 18:8

Some stellar defence helped a well-organised Truro team see off some strong opposition in a game which saw Sophie play four different positions in four quarters!

U14s Won 27:10

The U14s controlled the game form the start with some beautifully timed passages of play. Great shooting from Savvy and Any saw a 14:3 lead at half time. Excellent defending by Beth saw Truro gain many turnovers and results in a comfortable win.

U15s Won 18:16

A nervous start from the players making too many unforced errors, meaning the game went goal for goal. With hard work and determination the squad won the ball and with an excellent last five minutes secured a well-earned victory.

U16s/18s Lost 19:26

A combined 5th and Lower Sixth team contested a frantic game at Kelly but fatigue began to show in the fourth and Kelly finished the stronger team in this nip-and-tuck match. An exciting game played in glorious sunshine!
