Truro School U18B vs Redruth School – Drew 26–26
An entertaining and fiercely contested game ended in a draw after neither team managed a lead of more than two goals in the whole match. Spells of fantastic, dominant attacking play from School were cancelled out by some equally sharp Redruth shooting and the result was a fair one. The term ends with just a single defeat in seven matches for the U18B team; a narrow two-goal defeat to Millfield in September.
U13 vs St Swithun’s School, Winchester in the National Cup – Lost 16–36
The very long journey took its toll on the U13’s, the squad finding it difficult to get going in this highly competitive fixture. St Swithun’s were a determined and well drilled team, and unfortunately Truro made far too many unforced errors which the opposition capitalised on. Our shooting circle had a difficult time with a lot of overly dominant defending to contend with. The girls’ should still be extremely proud of themselves for reaching the last 16 in the country. They also have something to aim for next year.
