Netball Summary – Week Beginning 15 September 2014

Under 18B vs Helston Under 18A

Lost 3:27

School never quite got to grips with the blustery conditions against a strong Helston A team and, despite some excellent link up play from Erin and Jemima, failed to break through a strong Helston defence.

PSP vs Truro High School

Under 12 Lost 14:15

A very close and challenging game of netball, both sides evenly matched. The girls worked well as a team, showing great enthusiasm for each other. An encouraging performance from new-comer Jenna.

Under 13 Drew 14:14

This was a very closely contested game from the start. After losing to them twice last season the girls were determined to put on a good performance. With 30 seconds to go the girls were leading by 1 goal. Truro High took advantage of a break and the game finished 14:14. A very positive start to the season and one in which we can build upon. Player of the match was awarded to Maddie.

Under 14 Won 4:1

This squad played very short quarters, hence the low score. The score does not reflect the amount of possession Truro School had. Many girls were given the opportunity to play in a wide variety of positions with some super passages of play down the court.

Under 15 Won 18:0

An excellent result in a short game. Truro School dominated from start to finish displaying some mature netball.

Under 16 Lost 6:11

This match was a great opportunity to use all 10 players in the U16 squad. There were some excellent periods of play throughout the match but at times the girls did not drive forward to the ball enabling Truro High School to capitalise on the errors of passing down the court. However as the girls settle back into the netball term the consistency of their performance is no doubt going to improve as they are a very determined group of girls.
