Oliver and Alexandra from Sixth Form took part in the Mock Council of Europe at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office this term, an event organised by the British Council and the European Commission. It’s a prestigious event for which only 30 schools in the UK were selected.
Representing Germany, they discussed issues proposed by the Commission on energy efficiency targets and criminal law for juveniles and voted on the proposals. The students were greeted by the Minister of State for Europe, David Lidington, and were given the opportunity to ask him questions. Oliver and Alex liaised with the German Embassy prior to the event to help them with their research and were greeted by one of their diplomats in the morning. They represented the school in a most impressive way.
