Minecraft Competition

Key stage four students received a visit from CAD Architects Ltd last Wednesday as they prepare to launch a new Minecraft Competition.

Jeremy Bradley and Kyran Hooper from the firm are looking to inspire the next generation of budding designers by running the event which looks to capture student’s imagination and celebrate the Cornish coast’s architecture.

The visionary competition, which will start on Wednesday 4 February, provides students with a patch of land in the Minecraft world where they are challenged to build a luxury coastal hotel.

With limited building materials, the students must carefully construct a minimum of five bedrooms, a lobby, a function room, a lounge area and a number of other fun spaces that the students have a free reign to conjure up!

Imagination is key but Jeremy and Kyran are especially looking to see how students create great spaces, use materials wisely and how they include Cornwall’s iconic landscape as part of the design.
