Mike Shepherd, Founder and Artistic Director of Kneehigh Theatre Company visited The Burrell Theatre on Friday to speak to some of our GCSE and A Level students.
The classes had been to see his critically acclaimed production of Dead Dog in a Suitcase the week before at The Asylum (in its current residence at The Lost Gardens of Heligan) and by the end of the evening many were declaring that it was the best production they had ever seen.
Mike’s visit was a fantastic opportunity for the pupils to ask him about the show. His question and answer session was combined with a talk about his own life with Kneehigh, as well as advice about creating theatre, which was both useful and inspiring for our pupils, who are currently creating their own original pieces of theatre for their practical exams.
We are very grateful to Mike for giving up his valuable time and for giving us such a stimulating talk.
