Max Scoops Trophies at Speech and Drama Festival

Max Caddis in Year 4 scooped two trophies at The Saltash Speech and Drama Festival this week, outperforming older pupils from schools across Devon and Cornwall.

After many hours of rehearsal, he performed a set poem: The Donkey by Ted Hughes; and a piece of humorous verse: The Dentist and the Crocodile by Roald Dahl. Max won both of his classes and gained distinctions for both recitals.

Max was commended by the judges for his humorous verse speaking and was placed first out of 18 competitors. The standard was extremely high. Max was also presented with his trophies and certificates in school assembly, and later performed his poems to classes in Year 4. Everyone at Truro Prep School is very proud of his achievement.
