Malvern – surfing in the sunshine

At last the sun is shining and what a difference it makes to Cornwall!

We have however, had a slightly challenging week at school as the Lower Sixth have been receiving their mock exam results, and the Upper Sixth have been preparing themselves for their mocks.  Nonetheless, the girls have remained calm and focused, even those who have had extra demands made on their time due to their commitments to the school play.  It was therefore, even more important that we got out and about on Sunday, so in ever buoyant spirit we headed for Newquay and our indoor/outdoor adventure at ‘Flow Rider’.  For some of the girls this was their first experience of surfing and what incredible fun it was.  We started off by warming up on the tennis courts and the zip wire, then a cup of coffee in the lounge, followed by the main event.  The girls were incredible, they were wet, and at times cold, but remained utterly determined to be successful, and successful they were.  Yoyo was brilliant, Leanne and Becky were clearly Cornish girls who knew what they were doing, Nini’s snow boarding experience paid off, and the rest of the girls performed really well.  They made me laugh so much but at the same time I was so proud of them.  You can view a gallery of photos from our afternoon here.
