The middle of November is always going to be something of a challenging time in boarding. The clocks go back, the days get shorter and the girls get tired. We therefore knew that we had to get them out and about having some fun.
On Thursday, Friday and Saturday we went in groups to the excellent school production of The Tempest. With its tail of shipwrecks and magic, the girls were enchanted watching their fellow classmates perform. Saturday was, as usual, sport and shopping, with many of the teams out on the fields. Thankfully the weather stayed fine so the girls who were participating – although physically tired – did not get soaked to the skin.
Sunday began with a huge cooked breakfast with all of the trimmings. We knew that we had to eat well as we were off ‘go-karting’ in Hayle. The girls were so excited and enthusiastic and we had two hours racing around the track attempting to beat the boys. Jessie was very fast, as was Elisa, and Benny did well to recover so quickly after Joe crashed into the back of her. Carts were spinning and screeching and the pupils loved it. What a fantastic way to brighten up a dull and dark November weekend.
