Malvern – Films, Go-karting and Revision

With the beautiful weather continuing, this has been a really wonderful weekend.  On Friday evening some of us went to a breath taking performance of the black and white film ‘Sunrise’, it was one of the last silent movies ever made and was set to live music, created by the local band that accompanied the production.  It was an amazing experience to see such unusual cinematography in our own Burrell Theatre.

On Saturday we knew even though the sun was shining that both the AS and A2 exams were looming next week.  The girls were as brilliant as ever though and they managed their time very well, making the most of their study time, gym time and relaxation periods.  Following this productive day we settled down in the evening and watched the film ‘12 Years A Slave’, a really gruesome portrayal of American slave life.

Sunday was a day for fun.  Even though some girls had to remain in the house for study purposes there were still quite a few who were able to spend a glorious afternoon go-karting at Hayle.  With Theresa wining the first round convincingly, followed by an exciting European second round battle between France, Germany and  the Czech Republic going head on in every bend and straight.  Eventually, the Czech team came out on top, but whatever the results a wonderful afternoon was had by all.  You can see a gallery of photos from the afternoon here.
