As ever it has been another extremely busy week in boarding at Truro School. On Monday we had the information evening for those pupils in the sixth form applying to US universities; on Tuesday it was the Ten Tors training; Weds was netball fixtures against Bodmin College; Thursday was the sixth form Winter Warmer social and Friday was the start of the Methodist Independent School World Aims weekend leaving in the day, and the St. Agnes concert in the evening. All of this was followed by a boarding trip to the beach to do a voluntary beach clean in order to help the charity Sewage against Surfers. Nearly 50 boarders took part in this last event and really were able to make a difference to the local community that we live in.
It would take too long to mention all the names of all of the girls that participated in these events but I will take a moment to highlight just a few of our super stars. Imogen played for the first team in netball; Julia represented us up in London at World Aims, and Sasha sang at the St. Agnes service. What talented girls we have and it is so lovely to see them getting so involved and engaged in such a wide variety of activities and events.
Well with the weather on the change and John Lewis advertisement for Christmas already running time seems to be passing quickly. We have a really busy programme of boarding activities lined up for the next few weeks so if you are a parent particularly of a weekly boarder then keep an eye on the calendar as we really don’t want anyone to miss anything!
