Louis Murray reached his second national tournament semi-final of the season, losing to the Pakistan No. 1 and eventual winner of the tournament, Muhammad Ashab Irfan in the Scottish Junior Open. On the way, Louis beat Scottish, English and Malaysian opponents without dropping a game.
The following week Louis came 51st in an extremely strong 128 player draw British Junior Open (one of the top junior tournaments attracting the best players in the world).
In the earlier rounds Louis beat English and Welsh opposition and the higher seeded African No. 1 Ryan Gwidzima (winning 11-9, 11-9, 11-9). Louis lost narrowly to England No. 6 Ashley Hughes (18-16, 12-10, 11-6) and Dutch No. 1, Knut Hogevorst (11-9, 11-6, 11-6).
In the 2nd Round Louis played on the glass centre-court against the USA No. 2, Jon Ho. The match was streamed live on Squash TV with Simon Parke (former World No. 2) commentating on the match. Louis took the second game but eventually lost the match 3-1 (11-2, 5-11, 11-6, 11-6).
In February Louis will play the French Junior Open in Lille, hoping to continue his success this season in international tournaments.
