U16 girls' netball play national semi-final on home ground

With many parents, pupils and staff watching in a wonderful atmosphere, Truro U16s took to the court in the semi-final of this National competition.

The girls were nervous but made a strong start with a good lead 14-9 at quarter time – shooters Ella and Rosie achieving a 100% shooting statistic.

Godolphin and Latymer came back strong and with excellent fitness levels, real determination and patience piled the pressure on. Truro led 27-25 at half time.

In the third quarter the nerves really began to set in and many unforced errors let Godolphin back into the game, leading 40-36 going into the final quarter.

With some team changes Truro unsettled Godolphin and came back into the game at the beginning of the final quarter. Fitness levels showed and Godolphin began to take control. Truro’s heads dropped a little, the final score was 46-54. Well done to all the squad on a fantastic season and a super five years together in Truro’s netball team.
