Truro School success at the Young Art Cornwall Competition

A number of talented students and Art Scholars entered into a new regional art competition and exhibition, held at Tate St Ives.

The project, called Young Art Cornwall, is a chance for children and young people to exhibit their creative talent whilst fundraising for Cancer Research UK Kids and Teens.

The theme for 2018 was ‘What Makes Me Happy’ with the students being asked to submit a picture based on this concept. There were over 700 entries for the competition.

3rd Year student Charlotte Fortune gained second prize for the Year 7 – Year 9 category with her astounding picture. Oriel Blount, Rebecca Chellamuthu and Jemima Jessel all received Highly commended for their work.

The students were invited to a private award presentation and their work was hung in the Tate Gallery for three days.
