Sam Norton is set to swim in the Winter National Championships

Sam recently came 3rd in the South West of England Regional Winter Championships in the 100 metre breaststroke (long course 50-metre pool) at Millfield.

In the process, he broke the Cornwall all time youth record for the event and achieved the qualification time for the Winter National Championships, which will take place from the 13 to 16 December at Ponds Forge International pool in Sheffield.

This gala is also the selection gala for the Commonwealth Games swimming team, so he will be sharing the pool with the likes of Adam Peaty who is the world record holder in this event. Sam is very excited to see him compete at the same event.

In addition, Sam also made to final for the 50 metres breaststroke and came 7th in the region in that final.

He will be swimming again in Plymouth on the 19 November to try to achieve the national qualifying times for the 60 and 200 breaststroke.
