Rugby Success for Sixth Form Student Tom

This week Upper Sixth student Tom Weightman received the fantastic news that he has been selected for the England Under 18 Lambs Rugby Squad.

Tom took part in a series of intra-regional fixtures before the Lambs’ coaches selected the 41 strong squad.

Speaking about his achievement, Tom said

“I feel honoured to be representing the school at the national stage. Being part of the rugby environment within the school has really helped, so much hard work goes into the team behind the scenes. I’m just really pleased.”

James Austin, Truro School’s Head of Rugby, went on to say

“This selection is well deserved; Tom has been working very hard throughout the season and has been playing some excellent rugby.”

Tom is expecting to take part in his first fixture on the 21 January against Exeter Chiefs where he will be playing with the ‘Fast and Free’ attitude that the Lambs Squad adopts.
