Assembly at the Prep on Wednesday 8th March had a different feel and the pupils were captivated by an illuminating talk by Mrs Mary Murfin representing the Children’s Hospice South West. Mary shared photographic images of the hospice and talked briefly about the needs and support for children who are ill.
The pupils of the school watched on as FTS member Emma Rowe presented a cheque to the value of £1,743.59 to Mary which was the resultant amount raised by all of the pupils from the Pre-Prep and Prep at the FTS Christmas Fayre staged in December of 2016.
Mary was clearly moved by the amount raised and thanked the pupils profusely for the huge generosity.
Earlier in the year the pupils at the Prep had chosen the Children’s Hospice as one of their charities to support for this academic year. The School Council had democratically engaged all of the forms in the Prep in a debate about which charities to support and the Children’s Hospice was a unanimous choice.
