Mental Health speaker Jeremy Thomas paid the school a visit this afternoon to talk about his experience with mental illness.
At the age of 24, Jeremy was living life to the full with a good job, a girlfriend and a flat in London. But after his mother passing away Jeremy’s life spiralled and the problems started.
After admittedly needing help and seeking it, Jeremy was recognised as having Bipolar Disorder and having an addiction to alcohol. When this was identified he started to get his life back on track.
Now using his own experiences, he gives talks all over the country to share practical coping mechanisms for good mental health, how to spot symptoms, and to break down stigma by emphasising that anyone at any time can suffer from a period of bad mental health.
Jeremy’s talk was honest and insightful, but kept the audience engaged with his wit and humour.
