Truro Prep School pupils have been taking part in the annual House Verse Competition.
Pupils in all four houses from Year 3 through to Year 6 took part in the event. 12 pupils had been shortlisted with each house performing three films for the House Verse Competition. Lower Sixth English students then judged the films.
1st place was claimed by Year 6 pupil Celia who performed ‘George, who Played with a Dangerous Toy’ by Hilaire Beloc. 2nd place went to Year 5 pupil Henry with ‘The Snake Hotel’ by Brian Moses. Year 6 pupil Wilf came 3rd with ‘Egg’.
Pupils performed poems in front of a green screen with backgrounds, graphics and lower thirds being added in order to create a short film. The aim of the competition is to promote poetry and public speaking.
