Junior Girls’ Boarding Blog: 28 January 2019

It’s turned decidedly chilly here in Truro over the past couple of weeks so the girls have been keeping busy with some indoor activities.

Most people went to watch the 5th year drama students perform their GCSE pieces last week and next week I think most of the house is planning to support Louis, Michelle and Bea as they perform in the 4th year GCSE production of ‘The Crucible.’

Katie and Evie have been to London for a couple of days this week with the cathedral choristers, Freya and Olivia were invited out to a party this weekend and everyone is starting to revise for interim tests which are beginning to appear in lessons.

Last weekend the girls played bubble football against the Junior boys of Poltisco.  It’s quite difficult to tell who is who when they are in the ‘Bubble’ but here are some action shots!

This weekend the girls were lucky enough to have a cookery lesson from Miss Taylor who runs the new cookery school.  The girls, joined by boys from both Poltisco and Trennick, were taught how to make a roast dinner (with chicken, lamb and pork to choose from) and two different puddings:  ‘Not a’ lemon cheesecake and an Apple and Berry Crumble.  They also had to clean as they cooked.  Everyone then ate together around a large table in the cookery school café.

Next week it will be all change – the girls are going paintballing!

Best wishes,

Miss Broadhurst
