Junior Girl’s Boarding Blog: 11 June

Well it’s been a really busy first week back to school after half term.

On Sunday we welcomed Olivia into our ‘Pentreve Family’. Unfortunately for Olivia her very first lesson at Truro School was French with me – not only that but it was the listening exam too! Fortunately it doesn’t seem to have put her off life here!

On the last day before half term, Katie and the other Cathedral choristers recorded a song for the charity Cornwall Hugs Grenfell which aims to provide holidays in Cornwall for both survivors of the Grenfell Tower fire and for those involved in the rescue operation. The song, Grenfell From Today, has been released by Universal Music Group as a single. It is currently number 2 in the iTunes Classical chart. Please click here if you would like to to read more about the song and the work of Cornwall Hugs Grenfell.

School exams are looming for everyone next week so the girls have been busy revising. On Friday it was time for a well-earned rest and so nearly all the house went to see the latest Jurassic Park film at the local cinema. On Saturday it was time for more revision for some, whilst Emma, Ellie and Amy all went to Tunes in the Dunes, one of our local music festivals held on Perranporth Beach. By all accounts they all had a great time. Alex is currently there, having tickets for the Sunday instead. The rest of the house went over to Malvern on Saturday evening to spend time with the older boarders, eat lots of food and watch another film.
