This weekend involved an exciting day trip out to our local ‘big city’ – Exeter. After a two hour drive up the A30 on Saturday morning out of Cornwall we arrived at our destination by the scenic docks and canal – our climbing wall was found within an old renovated storage warehouse. It was an excellent facility with very helpful staff and a wide range of climbing activities to try out (highlights can be found below). All of the boys took part with great enthusiasm and raced each other up the different challenges. We were also joined in the climbing wall by the junior girls from Pentreve who were equally enthusiastic and competitive.
After a couple of hours of climbing (and some exhausted arms and shoulders) we walked together up into the city to see the historic city and the boys were given free time to do some shopping. Trevor bought some shoes which he was very pleased with.
In the evening, as well as our normal pizza night, we were also celebrating Anthony’s 16th birthday with cake.
On Sunday, the boys were allowed more free time to go into town, go to the gym and catch up on things they had missed on the Saturday.
My next weekend will not be until after Easter, so until then…
