Junior Boy’s Boarding Blog: 1 July

Where has this year gone?

It only seems a short time ago that I was writing the first blog of the academic year. What a year we have had and have finished it in style.

Over this week World Cup fever has certainly struck the boarding house.
If I was every in doubt of the lyrics to ‘It’s coming home’; after hearing many hundreds of renditions, they are certainly clear in my mind now!

There has been considerable interest as there are links to many national teams. England, Germany, Sweden and Russia. The boys have enjoyed watching the games throughout the week.

Alex had a great trip to London on the 4th year English Shakespeare trip on Friday.

This week has been the hottest of the year and the boys have made the most of using the sports fields during the evenings to play football, rugby, basketball and tennis.
Saturday was an opportunity to complete some tidying and packing ahead of the last week.
Football and pizzas rather than movies and pizzas.

The Sunday outing was great. Considering the temperature was still high we took most of the remaining boarders to Retallack Water Park.
This is a lake based inflatable assault course with jumps, slides, wheels, sponges etc.
