The end-of-term Carol Service welcomed some special guests on Tuesday 15 December when 30 close friends and family of John Heath joined us. John, who passed away in April this year, was a former pupil, parent, governor and chair of governors with a connection to the school that stemmed back to 1952.
Following the Carol Service we gathered on the lawn in front of the Graham Smith block to plant a tree in John’s memory and then adjourned, rather appropriately, to the Heath Hall for refreshments.
A fellow former pupil commented:
“While the Carol Service brought back many memories for me, we both appreciated being part of the “Truro School Family” and the reminders of the School’s philosophy. It was great to have a really good sing! The music was superb. The ‘Tree Planting’ brought together a lovely mix of people with a common bond of friendship with John Heath.”
Thank you to all the staff, pupils and governors, former and present, who made this such a special event for John’s family.
