Joe Gregory plays cricket in South Africa

2nd Year Student Joe Gregory has recently completed a two week tour to South Africa as part of the Cornwall Under 13 Cricket team.

The team travelled first to Johannesburg and then Cape Town where they played a series of matches. Joe opened the bowling and batting at various points. In one match he successfully got 3 wickets in his first two overs and had just opened the batting when rain stopped play – in Cape Town, a place where it had not rained properly in three years!

The level of cricket being played was superb, with many close matches and several wins.

Not only was this an incredible opportunity to play cricket against some great school teams from South Africa, but also to experience the culture of another country, see the amazing landscapes and view incredible wildlife.

The team went on game drives where they saw an array of wildlife, travelled to the top of Table Mountain in a cable car and contended with the drought in Cape Town.
