The Under 12s faced their toughest opposition of the season in their last game before the Christmas holidays. We travelled to our closest independent rivals, Truro High School, with a distinct air of apprehension and excitement.
The game was evenly matched with end to end action and the girls had to up their game, play cleverly and work hard for every ball. They played superbly and came close on a number of occasions (if only the goal had been a couple of inches wider on both sides). The defence had to remain strong and Jess showed why she has been selected as goal keeper for the Under 14 county side. The end result was a 0-0 draw. It was an honour to watch this side at their very best; they have had a superb hockey term and I am looking forward to working them hard when we start again in January, when there will be PSSP matches as well as the county tournament to prepare for.
