Hockey Summary – Week Beginning 27 January 2014

Girls Hockey

The U16 Girls continued their unbeaten assault on the PSP Championship with a convincing 5:0 win over local rivals Penair School. It was pleasing to see their continued development with the goals being scored from some flowing open play.

The U13 Girls secured the county title in triumphant fashion on Tuesday. They won every game in the pool stages, and demolished Wadebridge School in the cross-over game which took them to the finals with a positive 29 goal difference. This dominance continued at the finals with the team beating Redruth 8:2 in the semis, and then overcoming a resilient Bude 1:0 in the final. They now progress to the regional round held at Millfield in March.

Boys Hockey

The U13 Boys attended the annual Bryanston Tournament in Dorset. It was the first time that Truro School has sent a team to this prestigious event, and the squad competed valiantly against some strong opposition. They progressed from the pool stages to the Bowl competition, which they won, beating Clayesmore 1:0 in the final.
