Hockey Summary – Week Beginning 22 September

Wednesday 24September, vs Truro High School- (Fixture cancelled)

Saturday 27 September, vs Kelly College

(H) Under 12s won 10:0

Another great win for the Under 12s displaying talent above their years. Goals from Rosie x5, Elinor x2 and Laura x2.

(H) Under 13A lost 2:6

The Under 13s faced a tough game against Kelly College. Some excellent goal keeping by Lauren and tireless defence meant that this game was a lot closer than it could have been. The girls all worked very hard up the field and it was good to see them trying new positioning and ideas they have been working on in training. Despite the loss, the girls are to be commended for their hard work and commitment.

(H) Under 13B lost 2:3

(A) Under 15s won 0:2.

Another brilliant performance from the Under 15s; they looked like a very strong team defensively and whilst attacking. They scored 2 great goals and created many more chances. Thank you to Elodie who stepped up to play in goal and kept a clean sheet.

(A) Under 16s drew 1:1

(A) Under 18s drew 4:4

The Under 18s managed a thrilling fight back to earn a draw at Kelly College on Saturday. An even 20 minutes at the start somehow led to the girls being 3:1 down at half time. This only spurred them on to a second half fight back which saw the equaliser being swept home just as the final whistle blew.

Tuesday 30 September vs Truro High School- (Fixture cancelled)

(H) Under 18s won 3:1

The Under 18 girls managed to dominate the match against Truro High School on Tuesday evening. They started strongly from the start and played some great passing hockey and easily went into a 2 goal lead. It was only as they relaxed and became over confident that they allowed the High school back in the game after leaving the goalkeeper totally exposed. The mistake was soon rectified and Truro ended up winning 3:1 – the score line was not higher due to some excellent goalkeeping.
