Hockey Report – Bulk Fixture vs Plymouth College

Under 12s: Lost 3-1
The Under 12s battled hard and powerful, playing well together for their first ever game representing Truro School. With Truro scoring first it put the opposition on the back foot as we continued to apply pressure. However in the second half our players started to get tired and this showed as Plymouth started to put the goals past us, they picked up the pace as we dropped ours. Was a great game for the first years, with lots to focus and build on, preparing with what will be a great season ahead.
Under 13s: Won 12-0
The Under 13s dominated from the start of the match scoring within the first few minutes. This immediately put the opposition on the back foot and the girls went on to score a further 11 goals not allowing Plymouth College to get into the game. With excellent passing around the field the girls were able to find the gaps in the oppositions defence and successfully take a shot at goal as soon as they were in the D.
Under 14s: Drew 1-1
On Saturday the Under 14s had their first competitive hockey game this season on a full pitch. Unfortunately, due to illness we played with the bare 11 but the girls performed superbly. Rebecca and Zoe dominated in defence with GK Rebecca making some super saves. Georgia improved throughout the game and played superbly with Eve out on the right making some super attacks down the wing. Connie and Jenna hassled well up front. A great start to the season. Score 1-1. Molly was voted player of the match.
Under 15s: Lost 4-0
The Under 15s started powerful and strong against Plymouth College. They had the majority of the possession in the first half but as they started to tire, the game turned into hit and hope, which Plymouth were on top of especially as they had two national league hockey players. Our girls played well and were very quick on the break but were unable to find the net! Great game as it was the first one of the season!
