The end of a busy half-term but a fantastic end; a wonderful Harvest Thanksgiving Service led by 6AB, followed by an inspirational opening ceremony of the new Sports Centre at the Senior School with former pupil Sir Ben Ainslie – I particularly liked the Question and Answer Session, and an afternoon of rugby, courtesy of the RFU, who brought their festival to the school today; wonderful to see so many pupils from eight local schools all mixed up into different teams and playing together, and bathed in the warm Autumn sunshine. Well done to our Year 6 sports leaders for assisting with the organisation of the event; and well done and thank you also to Mrs Barnett who organised the festival for the school.

And yesterday – well done Pre-Prep (and Mrs Gladstone-Smith) for a lovely Open Assembly, so well supported by parents (and the cakes in the Dining Hall afterwards were delicious). And not to be outdone, congratulations to Years 5 and 6 for a superb Hall for Cornwall Concert last night – I loved the Samba Band, the Senior School Jazz Quartet and of course our choir and orchestra for their starring roles.

And finally, thank you to the Pre-Prep team (Mrs Homer in particular!) for the Year 2 Duvet and DVD night last Friday – a lovely innovation much enjoyed by the children; just a shame Mrs Hudson didn’t come in her Onesie!
