It is a real tribute to Jon Salfield and his team at Truro Fencing Club how well our pupils continue to do in national and international competitions. So, well done to Poppy Jessup for winning a gold medal at Under 11 level in the Leon Paul Junior Sabre Fencing series at Wellington on Sunday 29 September. Also, well done to Luke Barnsley, who won two silver medals and two bronze medals in swimming at the Carn Brea and Helston 28th Open Swimming Meet on Sunday 6 October.
Preparations are well underway for the Hall for Cornwall Concert, involving all of Year 5 and Year 6, the Harvest Thanksgiving Service on Wednesday 23 October at 8.50am, to which all parents are most welcome, and which will be organised by 6AB. Parents may also be pleased to know that all pupils from Year 2 to Year 6 will be attending the opening of the Sir Ben Ainslie Centre which will follow straight on after the Harvest Service, but at Truro School, of course.
Year 6 had a lovely visit to Perranporth Beach on Thursday for a Geography Field trip and well done to our two Science Quiz teams for coming first and second in the Area Heat of the Quiz Club Science Quiz. The winning team will now go on to the regional round, which last year was in Bristol.
