As the half-term draws to an end it’s great to reflect on some of the more seasonal achievements of the year.
The two that stand out for me were the concert at the Hall for Cornwall, where all of Year 6, accompanied by the Prep Orchestra, Guitar Ensemble and some elderly staff rockers, gave a spirited performance of that ELO classic, Mr Blue Sky.
And then, of course, our scholars, who sat their exam for Truro School earlier in the half-term. I commend our 6 academic scholars, 4 sports scholars and 3 drama scholars for their achievement in winning these prestigious awards as they progress into the Senior School.
As I write we have the Cross-Country team competing in the Truro Area Cross-Country at Richard Lander School; despite illness we are hopeful that at least one or two will go forward to the finals at Pool School just after the break.
In the meantime, I have been thoroughly enjoying learning how to be a bee-keeper; the hive given to us last year by our departing Year 6 is ready to go, so with luck, we should be up and running by May!
With the days getting longer again and Spring just around the corner, we can look forward I hope to some better weather and some genuine Truro Prep honey! Have a good half-term break.
