What a fantastic performance from the Year 5s last night in their production of A Christmas Diversion. The play, which was written and directed by Mrs Gregory, transported parents and grandparents first to the village of Little Snodgrass then on to Lapland. Here, some very spoiled and self-centred members of the boy band, ‘Long Diversion’, learned an important lesson about the true meaning of Christmas. Well done to all the pupils in Year 5 for putting on such an entertaining performance.
Looking back over the last few days, so much has happened – House Cross-Country Races, Fixtures and Swimming Galas. Mrs Wane has been busy cooking with many of the children – muffins in particular seem to be being baked and decorated at a phenomenal rate (and then consumed equally quickly, with some not even surviving the journey from the classroom to the playground!).
I am so grateful to the Friends for the wonderful Quiz Night and Cinema evening held last Friday. Full marks all round to all involved, but particular mention must go to our Year 6 Quiz Masters – Una, Elena, Finlay, Oliver, Poppy, Olivia, Jack and Ben who through their questions made the evening so very entertaining. My thanks to all the team who supported this event, not least those running the cinema evening for the children, which released their parents to have a little, well-earned fun and a delicious curry!
Much to look forward to next week and in particular the Christmas Concert on Wednesday morning (with coffee beforehand in the Dining Hall), and the Pre-Prep Christmas Play on Wednesday afternoon. I look forward to seeing you there!
