Girls Sports Summary – Week beginning: Monday 9 September

Jeans Bowl Tennis Final vs Bodmin
Lost 4–0. Flossie Cameron Webb, Erin Sawyer, Beth Rutter and Flo Conchie played a very strong Bodmin team. The eventual score does not reflect how closely contested each point was. The team should be incredibly proud of their performance.

Netball vs Truro High School

U12: Lost 7–9.
Playing their first match for Truro School. Lots of different combinations tried. Improved throughout responding well to coaching advice. Captain for the game Zoe Meads excelled; with many interceptions made from Rebecca Trew and nice circle play from shooter Molly Browne.

U13: Won 23–3.
The U13 team performance got better as the match progressed with slicker passing and better use of space making it harder for the opposition to turn over possession. Lily Pursall and Alice Bebb linked well in the circle and put in excellent shooting performances, whilst the tight defence elsewhere on the court prevented any goals from Truro High in the final two quarters of the match.

U14: Won 23–7.
Being the first match of the season the U14’s took the first quarter to find their feet.Towards half time the shooters started to get their eye in, and the score rose as the match progressed. The training focussed on creating space paid off in the 3rd quarter, where players began to make good decisions on the court to allow accurate and successful passing into attack. The defence worked hard to limit the High school to 1 or 2 goals per quarter, with a convincing victory in the end.

U15: Drew 13–13.
A superb second-half performance saw school rally from 6 goals down at half-time to draw 13–13 in a highly entertaining but frantic match in their first PSP encounter of the season.

U16: Won 34 – 27.
A great start to the season with a win over last year’s county champions. The defence was strong and shooting accurate. Effort was high and players wanted possession. All bodes well for a good season.
