Senior Football Results
1st XI: W 3.2
The 1st XI played previously unbeaten and top of the County League, Helston School. We started brightly and created some good chances before Francis Lowry put us 1.0 up. Helston responded well and equalised through a corner, which we were disappointed to concede. Late in the half we gave a needless free-kick away on the edge of our box and was punished with another goal.
The second half saw us push hard for the equaliser. Chances were missed but with five minutes left Matt Poole scored a crucial goal. With time running out there was further drama. We had a free-kick about 35 yards out. Curtis Pay put a delicious ball into the box, which Matt flicked on to the unmarked Mike McKelvey who calmly slotted the winning goal.
2nd XI: L 4.2
Our unbeaten 2nd XI went into this fixture full of confidence. Newquay Tretherras, however, had other ideas. Whilst we dominated the game Newquay hit us on the break. Our first defeat of the season (4.2) left the boys deflated but determined to return after half-term to win their next game.
