Despite the atrocious weather causing several fixtures to be cancelled in January and February, this season we have still managed to have 23 fixtures, giving more than 60 boys from Years 3 to 6 the experience of representing the school in inter-school matches.
For the first time, our U11s have also been involved in a football league with local schools, held on Monday evenings, which has challenged our better players by pitting them against boys who play football as their main sport. A draw in our last match against Mounthawke was reward for all the hard work and competitive spirit the team displayed in these league matches.
Other notable results were the U8s win against Polwhele at home, the U9 A Team’s narrow loss in a 6-5 thriller with Threemilestone (the County champions), the U9 B Team’s dominant 2-0 win against Threemilstone, the U11 B and C Teams’ wins against Kelly College Prep and the U11 A Team’s 1-0 win against Archbishop Bensen.
Well done to all of the boys who played for the school and thanks to the staff that have coached the players and refereed the matches.
