Fencing Summary – Week Beginning 24 February 2014

Yvonne Chart is now ranked 13th in Great Britain at senior level , which means she has just been for her first senior events competing for the GB senior women’s foil team. This is a remarkable achievement for a 17 year old. She will be competing in Tauberbischofsheim and Turin next month.

 

At the South West Regional qualifiers, Truro School fencers snapped up the qualification spots for the British Youth Championship Finals to be held later in the year. In the U14 girls’ sabre, Molly Wood took the silver with Keely Rodda taking the bronze medal. Lily Wood placed 3rd in the U16 girls’ sabre event. In the U16 boys’ epee, Connall Cromie took the gold, with brother Eoghan Cromie taking the bronze in the U14 boys’ epee event. In the U14 boys’ sabre, Bertie Holdsworth continued his run of good form to take the gold medal with James Kincaid claiming the bronze.

 

In other fencing news, Jenny from 1st Year took part in the SW Region Sabre competition on Saturday 22 February and came first in the U12 Girls.
