On Wednesday 12 March, the pupils in Year 4 were fortunate to be able to attend an educational day at the Royal Cornwall Showground.
They participated in such diverse activities as wrapping Cornish Yarg cheese in nettle and garlic leaves, milking ‘cows’, bottle feeding kids and lambs, handling day-old chicks and learning how to spin and weave sheep wool. Some even assisted in sheep shearing. The pupils also listened to informative talks on bee keeping, pigs and piglets, crop growing (cereals and potatoes) and livestock farming.
This packed day provided the pupils with plenty of information to build on their geography, science and food and plants lessons.
