Cricket Match Report: Truro School Under 12 v Cornwall Under 12B

On Wednesday 8 June the Under 12 cricket team hosted Cornwall Schools Under 12B team.

In a very entertaining and competitive game played on a superb wicket and in glorious sunshine, Cornwall batted first, reaching 120 for 9 wickets off 25 overs. Pick of the Truro bowlers was Ben C, whose leg spin once again proved almost unplayable as he returned figures of 4 wickets for 9 runs off 5 overs. He was backed up well by Ben B who bowled an excellent line and length in taking 1 for 12 off 5 overs.
In reply, Truro School stormed off to a flying start as Toby F and Jason A put on an opening partnership of 50. Toby went on to score a superb 55. Apart from Jason (14 no) the rest of the team batting contributed moderately. A game that should have been won comfortably ended in a nail biting finish with Truro School requiring one run to win off the last two balls with one wicket remaining. In a moment of panic, Sam was run out off the penultimate ball to leave the game tied between the two sides.
