Cornwall Junior Chess Championships

We had three players representing Truro School in the Cornwall Junior Chess Championships at Penair School.

Jack Harvey played a match for the U18 title but lost on time in a winning position in the final game. Bad luck, but certainly well played. On the bright side it meant former pupil Chris Piper took the trophy instead.

1st Year’s Jack Andrew finished joint first in the County U13s to add to the U12 title from last November, and alongside Jack Harvey is likely to be selected in the Cornwall Senior squad next season. Cameron was the only player to draw with the U15 winner and is still improving and may also be considered for the Cornwall Senior 2nd Team.
