Last week local author Ant J Matthews visited Truro Prep School to speak about his new book, The Gulls of Zethar Island.
Talking to Years 3 & 4 and Year 5 & 6, he explored a fantasy world where seagulls work as organised thieves, ruled by General Bruiser. One determined gull, Jack, wants to break away and lead seagulls back to fishing and respectability.
Enthralled by the first chapter, pupils asked questions about the writing process, how to publish a book and how to create ideas for a story.
A book signing after school was well attended and a number of pupils are hoping to write reviews for the author’s website.
