Year 5 photographers at Truro Prep School have taken over five thousand photographs in their Friday afternoon activity so far this term.
The budding photographers have been capturing images for different themes each week, including textures, colour, composition, portraits, landscapes, close-ups, wildlife, nature and Autumn.
The students have learnt how to control the depth of field, use aperture and shutter speeds and how to process their photographs using Photoshop and Pixlr. Thirty of this terms best photographs have now been given their own exhibition within the Prep outside Mrs Patterson’s office.
Hayden Brooks, who completed the photography activity last year, won the Junior Section of the Rotary Young Photographer Competition back in February this year, with his image of a Cornish seascape to illustrate the month of May in the 2017 Rotary Club Calendar.
Pop into the Truro Prep School and see the stunning photography for yourself, where you can also pick up a copy of the Rotary Calendar for £5, which will be donated to their chosen charity – Cornwall Air Ambulance.
