As another week comes to a close the girls are settling down for the evening and finishing off work. The weekend has been a busy one with the girls going to a local wood near Probus to spend a day team building with students from all the other boarding houses. Students were taught how to make and sustain a fire, build outdoor tents and cook their own food as part of their survival challenge. The girls thoroughly enjoyed spending time with the other students as well as learning some crucial skills along the way. This was all helped by the lovely weather we have had although the skies have just opened as they did yesterday.
In the meantime Emma and Jess had a busy day training for their Duke of Edinburgh award with the outdoor pursuits team. They have spent the time organising themselves and the paperwork for achieving this accolade. It is evidently hard work as they are now worn out and have gone to bed after a hearty pie supper.
Finally, a reminder for travel details that are required from all students for our records. If you have not done so already please may you email me with your daughter’s travel details for the end of term, the 21st of October. The boarding house closes at 5pm and I know that the girls are excited to see friends and family over the half term break.
It has been a great half term so far and the time really has flown. With activities from surfing, horse riding, outdoor skills, a Great Borading Bake Off, Chinese take aways and film nights it really has been a pleasure. We look forward to welcoming the girls back on Sunday the 6th of November when the boarding house reopens at 2pm.
