Another busy week in Trennick House with the boys working hard in the run up to Christmas. Torrin has thrown himself into rehearsals for the upcoming Fiddler on the Roof rehearsals with 9am to 6pm stints on Saturday and Sunday. The boarders played starring roles in the 2nd XV rugby match with Fahed, Josh, Rory and Henry all contributing to an incredibly close win over the Shebbear College 1st XV. Rory’s try was particularly impressive along with Fahed’s tackling.
Activities this weekend were held on the Saturday with the boys split into two groups to experience Balinese Gamelan. For the uninformed, this is a traditional form of music in Bali, with multiple metallophone style instruments played together to create a rich traditional sound. The boys learnt about Balinese culture and proved to be very adept with their beaters. Many thanks to Ms Shaw, the sixth form administrator at the school, for laying on the session.
Saturday night was pizza night and the boys were in good spirits despite the weather! With no activities on Sunday the boys enjoyed a day at leisure, with some watching the latest Harry Potter film. All of the boys have made Mr Kitto feel very welcome as the new Resident House Tutor and have enjoyed meeting the latest house dog ‘Oscar’.
