Senior Boys' Boarding Blog

Our first weekend of the new academic year has been a very successful all round.

The weekly excursion took us to Porthpean Outdoor Education near St. Austell for a team-building day. On the agenda for the day was caving, climbing and sea kayaking/paddle boarding.

The climbing required the most teamwork, especially encouragement for those a little more scared of heights and a helping shoulder for those a little shorter than others.

Next up was some caving, we had to crawl through small tunnels and help each other navigate in dark conditions. Matija looks rather comfortable in there!

The last activity was out on the water so we all squeezed into a wetsuit and walked down to the beach. We paddled about 1km up the coast on kayaks and a large paddle board. We even saw some Cornish wildlife up close. There was lots of splashing, jumping and laughter as well as some kayak jousting, I think Ondrej was the champion.

Two boys missed out on the trip but had wonderful times anyway. Simon scored a Hat-trick playing hockey for Truro Hockey Club Mens team and won 4-1 and our new boarder William who is a very keen and excellent sailor went sailing with the Head Master’s family to St.Mawes. Finally, Lorenzo has been spotted doing the washing up, he wants Mum to know he’s available to do it when he returns to Milan.
