Junior Girls' Boarding Blog: 14 January 2019

Happy New Year!  It feels as if we’ve been back for more than a week!

Last Sunday we welcomed three new members of our Pentreve family: Michelle, Uliana and Miss Jackson who will be on duty every other weekend, and each Thursday evening with Mr Webb and living in the house.

Already this week the girls have been very busy.  Lily and Freya are both starting guitar lessons and Evie is learning the violin.  Delilah has been on her first Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme practice learning how to pitch tents and cook outdoors.  On Saturday Katie and Evie sang with the rest of the cathedral choir at the enthronement of the new Bishop of Truro.

This weekend Lily has been on a sleepover and most of the house have just returned from watching ‘Mary Poppins Returns’ at the cinema.  We went on a trip to Falmouth on Saturday with the senior girls to spend a little time shopping before we all went to the Star Glazers’ Café where you can sit, decorate some unfired pottery as you wish and they will fire it for you.  It was a lovely opportunity for the girls to spend a couple of hours chatting and drinking milkshakes whilst they painted.

I look forward to seeing all the ceramics after they are fired in a few weeks time!

Best wishes,  Miss Broadhurst
