Congratulations to Dan who is part of the Under 14 rugby sevens squad. They played in the County Sevens tournament at Penair School on Friday and progressed through the pool stages, quarter and semi-final to play on the final. In a closely fought game Truro narrowly lost out and were runners up. Well done on your first medal for Truro School.
Congratulations also go to Roman who has competed in French fencing competitions and training camp recently. In France he made the squad for the French national teams’ competition on June 18th, representing the Dauphine Savoie league, as well as his individual qualification for the individuals national competition on 17th June. A very big well done Roman.
Basketball seems to be the popular sport during Friday evenings. The boarders have access to the sports centre during the evening and many enjoy this popular sport. They also have the fitness suite, squash, badminton and tennis courts. They certainly make the most of the facilities available to them.
The boys made the most of a wet Saturday. They took the opportunity to watch some sports and cartons during the day. A few popped into Truro for long overdue haircuts! Saturday evening saw films, music and of course the traditional pizzas.
After a hearty brunch on Sunday the boarders were given the challenge of a treasure hunt around Truro. Mr Kitto and I had prepared a series and clues, riddles and anagrams to solve. The boarders were put into random mixed teams and given an information pack including map, clues and grid references etc. The initial briefing can be seen as well as team selection.
This task had the boarders exploring some of the sites and historical places of Truro. The wining team were ‘The Rolling Stones’ who scored 29 out of a possible 30. Congratulations to them.
As a boarding community we are running in the Rainbow run on 25th June. This is a fun 5k race to raise money for our chosen charity. All boarders will be taking part, they can run, jog or walk the course.
