Badminton Summary – March 2014

Year 3 and Year 4 Bisi Badminton Partnership Finals

Congratulations to the team of six players who participated in the Bisi badminton finals at Penryn College on Friday 21 March 2014.

The team participated in a variety of striking and hand-eye coordination activities. The children scored points at each timed activity, which were then totalled for an overall result. Our team of six players did extremely well to finish as runners up in this event, which 10 local primary schools in the Penryn Partnership attended. They have now reached the next level, and will compete in the Cornwall School Games at Richard Lander School on Friday 27 June 2014.

Team: Joseph, Finn, Oliver, Daisy, Lexi and Soumya.

Year 5 and Year 6 Bisi Badminton Partnership Finals

Our U11 ‘A’ mixed badminton team participated in the partnership finals at Penryn College last Friday 28 March 2014. The eight teams attending were divided into two different groups, each playing in a round robin on their respective courts. The standard of play in this tournament was good, with several county players on the other school teams.

The team singles were exciting, fast events, with the score continuing from the previous game, until all team members had played twice. Scoreboards were kept by the sports leaders from Penryn College. Following the round robin stage, where our team won all three matches, they progressed to the final.

Congratulations to Nila, Luke, Rosie and Max for winning the final against Marlborough ‘A’ team. All players deserve to be proud of their performances.

The top two teams have now qualified for the Cornwall School Games, at Richard Lander School, on Friday 27 June 2014.
