Friday night was very quiet with a number of boys making good use of the library some staying later than usual. The SBASC was open after prep and the boys made full use of the facilities on offer. Later in the evening some ordered pizza and socialised in the common room whilst watching the rugby.
On Saturday morning the house was almost empty as a large number of the boys were playing rugby for the schools rugby teams at Taunton. The boys who played for the senior teams and the U16 ‘a’ & ‘b’ played very well as Truro beat Taunton across all age groups home and away. During the evening the boys used the pool table to good effect and practised for Sunday’s pool competition. After this a few of them spent some time socialising in the girl’s boarding house with the remainder enjoying a film at the Plaza Cinema.
Early on Sunday morning Joe was driven to Stithians reservoir for a rowing lesson with the Greenbank Rowing Club with the main activity in the afternoon being the house pool competition. All the boys were entered in a draw with the winner of the competition receiving a Domino’s pizza voucher which needless to say created a great deal of interest.
Games were played throughout the afternoon and evening. The early rounds were played on a one frame knock out basis, with the semi-final and final being decided over the best of three frames. There were some shock results with some favourites being knocked out early creating an exciting atmosphere for the semi-finals. Kanyin and Baba were the successful finalists with Baba winning 2–0.
Well done boys for a fun filled completion and your sportsmanship.
