On Sunday 21 September, 1H went on a daring adventure to Truro Schools’ Outdoor hut at Minions, the highest village in Cornwall, to learn survival and bush craft techniques from Spanner and the team from Footsteps of Discovery.
As the scenario played out over the day the team learned that they had been involved in an airplane crash and had to survive and ensure their rescue. The form were spilt into two groups and had to work together to learn techniques that would allow them to look after themselves in the wilderness and attract attention from passing planes.
Eventually in the final race they linked all the skills together to decide who was the BOB (Best On the Bus) on the way home. The weather was glorious up on Bodmin moor and 1H had a fantastic time. A big thank you must go out to Spanner and Ross from Footsteps of Discovery who made the day a great success.
